About

Tikkun means repair.

Not replacement, and not pretending the break never happened — taking what shattered and making something whole out of it. The light comes through the places that cracked.

Why we exist

Not in crisis. Stuck.

Many organizations exist to help, heal, and support the broader Jewish community in times of crisis. But a growing number of people are seeking something more. They are not in an acute crisis. They are stuck — in old patterns, unresolved pain, and spiritual disconnection.

Many of them discover alternative healing — an approach that accounts for the complexity and richness of the human experience. And there they meet three problems: spiritual, clinical, and structural. Tikkun Ha'Nefesh was built to hold the entirety of the process, from the first conversation to the work itself to lasting change.

Our standard →

You were never broken. You were always whole. Tikkun is the work of coming back to it.

Who

Founded by two people this work changed.

Tikkun Ha'Nefesh was founded by Aaron Stefansky and Moishe Goldstein to make alternative healing accessible and safe for the Jewish community — financially, spiritually, and clinically. Both credit alternative healing with transforming their lives.

Aaron Stefansky

Aaron Stefansky

Co-Founder · Executive Director

For years, Aaron struggled with addiction and experienced firsthand that lasting change required more than addressing a single behavior. His own journey led him toward a more holistic understanding of healing and eventually toward helping and guiding others through retreats, inner work, teaching, and coaching.

"Many people pursue alternative healing without preparation or integration. We built Tikkun Ha'Nefesh around a belief that these are not optional additions to the work — they are the work itself."

Moishe Goldstein

Co-Founder · Director of Programs

Moishe grew up in Crown Heights, steeped in Chabad tradition — a community with a deep sense of mission and spiritual seriousness. But his path took him elsewhere. He battled addiction through his early years, struggling to find his grounding in a destabilized world. That reckoning led him into two decades of professional work in addiction recovery and mental health — helping treatment centers across the country build ethical, effective systems. He has eighteen years in recovery. He saw what works and what doesn't, and understood from the inside how to build a container that actually holds. Today he directs Tikkun's programs and leads the 14-Day Immersion at Tikkun Sanctuary.

"We started Tikkun because we've seen what's at stake. And because we believe the Jewish community deserves better — and more — than what currently exists."
