How we handle what you share.

What this website collects, where it goes, and what we do — and never do — with it. Written to be read.

This website is not for emergencies. If you or someone you love is in danger, call 911. In a mental-health crisis, call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, at any hour. Our forms are read by a person, not watched around the clock.

Who we are

Tikkun Ha'Nefesh Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and the home of Tikkun Path, Tikkun Retreats and Tikkun Ascend. Tikkun Ascend has its own website, tikkunascend.org, with its own privacy policy.

To reach a person about anything on this page: info@tikkunhanefesh.org · (224) 216-9597 · 4156 161st Terrace North, Loxahatchee, Florida.

What we collect

Only two things.

What you type into a form. This website has five: the contact form on the home page, “Begin with a conversation”, the form for rabbis and referrers, the practitioner application, and “Partner with us”. Each asks for your name and a way to reach you, and gives you room to write. The practitioner application also asks about your training, licences and insurance.

Some of what people write is personal — about their health, their family, or someone they are worried about. Apart from your name and a way to reach you, you decide how much to tell us. If you are a rabbi or referrer, please leave out the name of the person you are writing about; we will ask for what we need, with their agreement.

Ordinary technical records. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs — the page requested, the browser, an approximate location, the time. We do not use these to identify anyone, and we do not combine them with anything from a form.

There is no account to create and nothing to log in to.

Where it goes

When you press send, your form is emailed to our team and read by a person. It is not stored in a database on this website. That is on purpose: the fewer places this information sits, the fewer places it can go wrong.

Three companies handle it along the way:

  • Vercel hosts this website and runs the small piece of code that receives the form and passes it on.
  • Resend delivers the email. Like any email-delivery service, it keeps a short-term record of the messages it sends, under its own privacy terms.
  • Microsoft provides our email, where the message arrives and stays.

What we use it for

To answer you. To understand what you are looking for, so we can suggest the right path — even when that path is not ours. To consider a practitioner’s application. To talk with you about supporting the foundation.

We will not add you to a mailing list unless you ask to be on one.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information, rent it, trade it, or use it to advertise to you.

If we suggest a practitioner or program outside our own team, we will ask you before passing on your details, and share only what they need.

Beyond that, we share what you write in only two situations: where the law requires it, and where someone’s life is at immediate risk.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics and carries no advertising trackers. If that ever changes, this page will say so before it does.

One thing worth knowing: the typefaces on this site load from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google’s servers for them, as it would on any site that uses them. Google receives that request, which includes your IP address. It receives nothing you type.

How long we keep it

Messages stay in our email while the conversation is going and for a reasonable time afterwards, so we can pick up where we left off if you come back. Practitioner applications are kept while we consider them and, if you join the network, for as long as you are part of it. If you ask us to delete what we hold, we will.

How it is protected

This website and its forms travel over an encrypted connection. Only the people who need to read enquiries can open the inbox they arrive in.

One honest limit: ordinary email is not a secure medical-records system. It is how most small organizations do this, and a reasonable place to start — but if there is something you would rather not put in writing, leave it out and tell us by phone on (224) 216-9597.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to info@tikkunhanefesh.org and we will do it. You never have to give a reason.

Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under your local law. Ask, and we will honor them.

Age

This website is meant for adults, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you are under 18, please ask a parent, a guardian or someone you trust to contact us with you.

Changes to this policy

If we change it, we will change the date below. If we change something that matters, we will say what changed rather than quietly updating the page. Our terms of use are on their own page.
