Terms of use

The terms of using this website.

The short version: this website describes our work and invites a conversation. What we offer is experiential and spiritual, not medical care. It is not a contract, it is not medical advice, and sending a form does not sign you up for anything.

This website is not for emergencies. If you or someone you love is in danger, call 911. In a mental-health crisis, call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, at any hour.

Agreement

By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

What this website is

It describes Tikkun Ha'Nefesh Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and its programs — Tikkun Path, Tikkun Retreats and Tikkun Ascend — and gives you a way to start a conversation with us.

It is not an offer, and it is not a contract. Sending a form is an enquiry. Taking part in any program depends on a conversation, a screening, and a separate written agreement. Nothing on this website commits either of us to anything.

Reaching out does not guarantee a place. Part of our work is saying honestly when something is not the right fit, and pointing you somewhere that is. The same goes for practitioners: sending step 1 of the application starts a review; it is not acceptance into the network.

This is not medical care, and not medical advice

What Tikkun Ha'Nefesh and its programs offer is experiential and spiritual. It is not medical or clinical care. It is not therapy, and it is not psychiatric treatment. It is not treatment for addiction, for a mental-health condition, or for any other condition.

We are not a healthcare provider. Using this website, sending us a form or talking with us creates no clinical relationship of any kind — nobody here is treating you. Some practitioners we may suggest are licensed clinicians in their own right; the care they give is theirs, not ours, and the next section says more about that.

Nothing on this website is medical, psychological, psychiatric or clinical advice, and reading it does not create a professional relationship of any kind between us.

It is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. Please do not delay seeking that care, or set aside advice you have been given, because of something you read here. Decisions about medication are between you and your prescriber; we never advise anyone to start, stop or change one.

Practitioners and programs we suggest

Practitioners in our network run their own practices and are responsible for the care they provide. We vet them for clinical competence and halachic integrity — see Our Standard — but a suggestion from us is a starting point, not a guarantee. The decision to go ahead is always yours, and you are always welcome to ask any practitioner your own questions first.

Some approaches described on this website, including guided medicine work, are legal only in certain places and circumstances. We only suggest them where they are clinically appropriate and legally available, and we do not encourage anyone to break the law.

Who this is for

This website is meant for adults aged 18 or over. If you are under 18, please ask a parent, a guardian or someone you trust to contact us with you.

What you tell us

Please be honest and as complete as you are comfortable being. We make suggestions based on what you tell us, and an incomplete picture can lead to the wrong one. Please do not send a form on someone else’s behalf without their knowledge, and if you are referring someone, leave their name out.

How we handle what you share is set out in our privacy policy.

Giving

Tikkun Ha'Nefesh Foundation is a 501(c)(3). Gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Online giving is not open yet; when it opens, payments will be handled by a payment provider, so card details never pass through or stay on this website.

Using the site

Please do not use this website to break the law, to impersonate anyone, to send us anything harmful, to interfere with how the site runs, or to collect information about other people.

Our content

The words, photographs, video, logo and design on this website belong to Tikkun Ha'Nefesh Foundation or are used with permission. You are welcome to read them, link to them and quote them with credit. Please do not republish them as your own or use them commercially without asking.

Other websites

Where we link somewhere else — including tikkunascend.org, which has its own terms — we do so because we think it may help. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for them.

No guarantees

We keep this website accurate and available as best we reasonably can, but we cannot promise it will always be correct, complete, uninterrupted or error-free. It is provided as it is.

We also make no promise about outcomes. Nothing here guarantees any particular result for any particular person; what anyone gets from this work depends on far more than we control.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Tikkun Ha'Nefesh Foundation and the people who work with it are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date below shows when they last changed, and the version on this page is the one that applies.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, and any dispute will be handled by the courts of that state.
